Bike To Work Month is Here!
May is Bike To Work Month and to help celebrate Starbucks is one of the many companies in Seattle that will be hosting a Bike To Work Day Commuter Station. At the Commuter Station bicyclist and other visitors can stop by to get information about bike routes around the area, bicycle education provided by Cascade Bicycle Club volunteers, free giveaway prizes, event merchandise as well as beverages and snacks provided by Starbucks.

Last year Starbucks had 19,000 visitors at their station and they are looking to top that this year! The Starbucks Bike To Work Day Commuter Station will be open from 6 am 9 am on Friday May 16th and located at the SODO Starbucks HQ on 1st Ave S & S Stacy. Starbucks is looking forward to seeing you come on out & show your support!

MIC Membership Calling.....
Many of you have already (or will be) receiving a call from us about the current MIC Membership Drive. We are taking the opportunity to check in with you and make sure we have updated contacts for your Employee Commute person as we have some great incentive programs going on right now. We are also asking if you have any referrals for potential membership. With construction mitigation and planning here (1st Ave. South Repaving, SR 519, and preliminary projects in conjunction with whatever is decided for the Alaska Way Viaduct) the time to join is now!

We are only as strong as the businesses that we represent Please call the MIC office if you have anyone in mind: neighboring businesses, clients, acquaintances...We are happy to make contact with them and share our goals and programs. Many of you have already participated and we thank you for your continued support.

A Whole New Meaning to Going Green
Are your employees stuck in traffic? Employer Rewards is a program that can keep your employees moving while reducing emissions. Employer Rewards has seed money for your company to start a Commuter Benefit program at your workplace. The TMA will be hosting workshops this spring to provide details of the program. Reserve your spot at a workshop by calling or sending an email to Erin Evetts @ 206-762-2470 or duwamishtma@qwest.net with your name and contact information.

Cool Website
We were told about a cool website that has traffic conditions for the entire US. The information seems to be very "up to the minute". Check out www.maps.live.com and click on the Traffic button in the blue banner on the top-left on the map. This software is a Microsoft Virtual Earth product. Pretty cool stuff!
